Mike Lucia

I'm Mike, Joe's dad, and I'll be one of the adults going to Ecuador over Spring Break.  I work for Cruz Companies up on the North Slope oil fields.  My job includes camp maintenance and drill rig support, which can be anything from building ice or snow roads, to moving man camps to remote locations for the drilling crews, and maintaining those camps. Usually, I work 2 weeks on, then take 2 weeks at home, but I'm working a few extra weeks this winter so I can take this missions trip to Ecuador with my son and our Glacier View Bible Church team.
When I'm not at work, I stay busy at home, putting on an addition to our home, fixing everything that breaks while I'm away (!), hauling firewood, and being involved in our busy family's activities.  Sometimes we have time to go out hunting, snowmachining, or just playing in the snow.
I'm looking forward to heading down to Ecuador to get involved in this water project, helping a community who wouldn't be able to achieve the goal of getting fresh water without some help, and learning about another culture than my own.
The whole altitude sickness thing has me a little concerned; please pray that I'll stay healthy and able to work while we're there.  Also, I'm part of the 'VBS curriculum' team; since I'm the lone male on the committee, pray for patience for my teammates and pray that I'll be able to help share the good news of the Gospel with little Ecuadorians without knowing any of their language!
