Chuck pictured with Zac our youngest
Zac was an infant when I first went to Ecuador. That was 9 years ago. This will be my 4th time going. It is always a blessing to go and help a community get clean water to their homes. Our Church has worked on Water projects through HCJB Global several years, working with Cesar Cortez, Missionary-Engineer- Church planter- Husband and father.{ Quite a Guy}
On the first trip when we got to the community the project was weeks behind. They had been promised clean water many times from different organizations. They were loosing hope. Cesar always works with the community. They have to put hours and/or money into the project. Why were the Americans here? Cesar was able to tell them we love God the" living water" and wanted to help them. In the 5 or 6 days we were there 3 miles of ditch were dug, the 12,000 gal tank was completed, and we did a time of Vacation Bible School in the afternoons. It was amazing how God used us to encourage the people to work. They were weeks ahead of schedule when we left. Two years later we were back a couple days to help build a church. Upon our arrival the kids came up recognizing me and they were ready for Vacation Bible school again. Even when we cannot speak the language we make an impact.
When Aaron said he was thinking of going to Ecuador I said I would go. I remember when these kids were born, adopted, or moved into the community. I am looking forward to seeing how God challenges each one of us through this trip, physically, mentally and spiritually.
